2 killed in gun attack

CAMP VICENTE LIM , Philippines  – Motorcycle-riding men opened fire on a group of workers, killing two and wounding five others in Barangay Dalig, Teresa, Rizal on Monday night.

Eddie Bombales and Renato Magdemas were pronounced dead on arrival at the Rizal Provincial Hospital. Glacy Magdrigal, Marylyn Monteser, Lino Tumulak, Catherina Castillo and Diana delos Santos were brought to the same hospital for treatment.

The employees of Coral Farm piggery and poultry were on their way home when they were shot.

Probers said the attack could be work-related.

“We received information that there was an ongoing retrenchment...and some employees had a misunderstanding with the management,” said Senior Superintendent Albert Ocon, Rizal police director.
