2 drug suspects slain in Quezon City, Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged drug pusher was shot dead by six motorcycle-riding assailants in Quezon City on Sunday night.

Jonald Campo, 31, who was on the drug watchlist of Barangay Payatas B, died at the scene.

The mother of Campo admitted to police that he was a drug user.

Campo’s cousin told police that he heard gunshots at around 8:30 p.m.

After a few minutes, Campo was found dead with gunshots to the body.

Witnesses told probers that the gunmen escaped toward Lupang Pangako.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City police.

In Pasig City, a suspected drug peddler was shot dead by three unidentified men.

Richard Manansala died at the scene from multiple gunshots to the body.

Manansala was on the drug watchlist of Barangay San Miguel, Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, director of the Eastern Police District, said.

Investigation showed that Manansala was watching a dice game along Dr. Pilapil street when the assailants opened fire at him at past 9 p.m.

Witnesses told police that the assailants fled on a motorcycle.

Responding police officers said they recovered a sachet of shabu from Manansala.
