7,000 cops to secure Undas in Calabarzon

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – More than 7,000 police officers were deployed in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) to provide security during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Provincial directors and police chiefs were ordered to put up assistance desks at the entrance of cemeteries and deploy foot patrol to increase police visibility, said Chief Superintendent Valfrie Tabian, Calabarzon police director.

Police and military personnel will secure vital installations, local and foreign-owned businesses, tourist destinations and key economic assets as well as intensify target-hardening measures at places of convergence, said Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson.

Gaoiran said road safety marshals will be deployed in strategic areas.
