Chinese man gunned down at CCP grounds

MANILA, Philippines - A Chinese man was killed in an ambush at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex Wednesday night.

Su Zi Wei, driving a Toyota Fortuner with conduction sticker VD-5785, was waiting for the traffic light to turn green along Pedro Bukaneg street at around 9:30 p.m. when he was attacked.

An assailant approached the   window on the driver’s side and shot Su through the glass, once in the head and twice in the body.

Su was with other Chinese nationals Yi Tang Lei, Zheng Ho Weyn and Zhou Tue Hui as passengers.

The report stated that police officers from both Pasay and Manila went to the crime scene.

It added that at around 11:30 p.m., Bede Bernard Zaballa, senior security officer, told Senior Inspector Neil de Castro, a member of the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section, that the crime happened in Manila, based on a map given by the CCP administration.

It added that at around 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, Chief Inspector Allan Estrada of the Pasay police community precinct 1 borrowed Zaballa’s copy of the map to discuss the issue with Manila police.

The MPD’s homicide section said yesterday that the case is now being handled by Pasay police officers.
