Divisoria condo fire reaches 5th alarm

MANILA, Philippines – The fire that razed a commercial and residential condominium building in Divisoria, Manila on Sunday afternoon, reached fifth alarm.

At 1:56 p.m., TXT FIRE Philippines said KP Tower along Juan Luna corner Recto Divisoria, Manila reached fifth alarm. It was declared under control at around 3:14 p.m.

Radio reports said the blaze sparked from the second floor of the 26-storey condominium building at around 1:30 p.m and was declared under third alarm at 1:39 p.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection paramedics and Philippine Red Cross volunteers assisted and rescued the occupants of the burning condominium building which include pets of the residents.

The authorities have yet to determine the cause of fire.
