KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines - Mayor Joseph Evangelista on Thursday warned to personally lead the prosecution of any entrepreneur caught selling firecrackers and pyrotechnics in the city before December 23.

There is a ban in Kidapawan City on selling of such merchandise before December 23, as set by the city council.

The ordinance is meant to preclude firecracker injuries and accidental conflagrations unsupervised use of pyrotechnics can cause.

Evangelista reminded anew his constituents about the ordinance over Catholic station dxND in Kidapawan City, one of the radio outfits in Central Mindanao of the popular Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate congregation.

He said only members of the Kidapawan City Fireworks Vendors Association shall be allowed to peddle firecrackers and pyrotechnic products in the city from December 23 up to the New Year’s Day.

Evangelista said violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of law.
