2 wounded in Cagayan gun attack

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  -Two people were wounded when an unidentified man on a motorcycle opened fire at a sport utility vehicle along the highway in Barangay Catugan, Lallo, Cagayan, police said yesterday.

Domingo Bautista, 44, and Violeta Castillo, 43, were brought to the Matilde Olivas District Hospital for treatment, Police Officer 1 Gilbert Columna said.

Businessman Joseph de los Santos, his wife Evangeline and their six-year-old son Aljon were unhurt.

Eighteen bullet shells for an M16 rifle were recovered at the scene.

Police are looking into business rivalry as the motive for the attack.
