MANILA, Philippines – An Asian utility vehicle (AUV) on Thursday morning crashed into a trailer truck along Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City leaving the driver dead and three of its passengers injured, according to radio reports.

Reports said the Mitsubishi Adventure driven by Rommel Ombrog, crashed into a 22-wheeler broken truck parked along the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

After the accident, another closed van collided with the AUV.

Ombrog and three of his passengers identified as Randy Ombrog, Janet Maharillo and Rommel Ohario were immediately brought to the San Juan de Dios Hospital after the collision. However, Rommel was already declared dead on arrival since he was caught in between the AUV for more than an hour.

The three passengers are now stable.

Pasay Traffic Police said the truck had no early warning device that was why Ombrog did not notice that it was parked. The accident happened early morning. - Rosette Adel
