Security guard killed, 5 soldiers wounded in NPA attack in S. Cotabato

MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was killed and five soldiers were wounded when communist rebels stormed a banana plantation in Tampakan, South Cotabato Tuesday night.

Melchor Galamagang, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body, died on the way to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital.

Privates First Class John Ivan Suarte, Danny Mark Tandog, John Paul, Salindong Mohammad Ali and Alfred Ablanzar were wounded when the New People’s Army guerrillas fired at a detachment near the plantation.
