Ex-village chief gunned down

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan, Philippines – Motorcycle-riding men shot dead a former village chief here Sunday. 

Enrique Roldan, 56, was on his way home on a motorcycle, when he was attacked by men believed to have been tailing him from a cockfighting arena.

Roldan was declared dead on arrival at the Bayambang District Hospital due to several gunshot wounds.

Investigators recovered bullet shells from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene. They ruled out robbery as the motive for the killing as the assailants did not take Roldan’s money.
