Kin, friends seek help for release of captive jail warden

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The family, relatives and friends of the Compostela Valley jail warden, who was kidnapped by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels, have sought the help of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for the release of their loved one.

NPA guerrillas seized Jose Mervin Coquilla in Barangay Sto. Niño, Panabo City, Davao del Norte last month. 

Coquilla was reportedly with his wife Lijobeth on their way to church when the rebels  seized them. Lijobeth was released after an hour.
