MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed while at least 45 others were injured after a passenger bus slammed into a 10-wheeler truck in Batangas Thursday night.
Initial reports said Dimple Bus conductor Arnel Diaz and Jade Anthony Dimalibot, 18, a passenger, died in the accident.
Police said the bus was speeding along the northbound lane of the Star Tollway in Marawoy, Lipa, Batangas around 11 p.m. when it hit the truck.
Rescue teams rushed the injured passengers to the Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Lipa City.
Authorities have filed criminal charges against the bus driver.
