CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Forty-four persons allegedly engaged in cybersex were arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) in separate raids on three Internet shops in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Wednesday night.
Raided were the Charlote, Deadline and Barracks Internet shops in Barangay Bonifacio. The shops were reportedly owned by a certain Domingo Cordova.
Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, Bataan police officer- in-charge, said the team seized 151 computer sets and other paraphernalia. Eight of the 44 suspects were women.
The men were reportedly pretending to be women to convince foreigners to register on a “pornographic site,” the report said.
It was not known whether Cordova was among those arrested.
The NBI said the establishments operate legally as Internet shops during daytime but by 8 p.m., the suspects start to chat and perform in front of the Web camera to entice foreigners.
All suspects were taken to NBI headquarters in Manila for investigation.
