July 28 a holiday in Bulacan for INC centennial

MANILA, Philippines — The Bulacan provincial government declared Monday, July 28 a holiday to give way to the post-event operations of the Iglesia ni Cristo centennial celebration scheduled the day before.

The local church expects the attendance of 1.5 million of its members who will gather at the newly opened Ciudad de Victoria complex featuring the Philippine Arena, the largest indoor arena in the world.

Governor Wilhelmino Alvarado said in a radio report that a challenging cleaning operation and traffic situation are expected after the event.

The holiday announcement followed President Aquino's declaration of July 27 as a national holiday commemorating the founding of Iglesia ni Cristo.

The Metro Manila Development Authority, meanwhile, also launched the INC Centenary app to aid motorists through an expected traffic congestion in key areas early next week. - Camille Diola
