Jeepney barker shot dead in Makati

MANILA, Philippines - A 28-year-old jeepney "barker" was shot dead in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City early Monday.

The Makati police identified the victim as Randy Galano.

Police said Galano was chatting with his friends infront of a pawnshop along Evangelista Street at about 2 a.m. when an unidentified gunman wearing a baseball cap appeared and shot him at close range.

Galano sustained four bullet wounds in the abdomen and chest and died on the spot, police said.

The gunman then boarded a car which sped off towards EDSA.

Homicide probers are still determining the motive for the shooting.
