Seminar food downs village treasurers

BATANGAS, Philippines   â€“ More than 50 barangay treasurers attending a three-day seminar in a hotel in Malvar town this province were hospitalized after showing symptoms of food poisoning Wednesday. 

Tanauan City administrator Herminilando Trinidad said the victims were among the 1,000 plus participants of the seminar for Batangas barangay treasurers to discuss the new guidelines in the accounting system of barangay funds.

Reports said 30 participants were rushed to Mary Mediatrix Hospital in Lipa City, 10 to the CP Reyes Hospital, and 13 to the Mercado Hospital, both in Tanauan City.
