Albay kicks off Magayon Fest

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines   â€“ The provincial government yesterday led the opening of the Magayon Festival 2014, which will last for five weeks, highlighted by the performance of eight street dance numbers from other towns, cities and provinces of Bicol.

The event was attended by Assistant Tourism Secretary Benito Bengson Jr. and Gov. Joey Salceda.

Salceda said the first, second and third place winners in the street-dancing competition will receive P500,000, P300,000, and P200,000, respectively.

“We hope to draw more tourists to Albay to see for themselves the activities we prepared for the festival, which would last until April 30,” Salceda said.
