MANILA, Philippines - The president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will visit areas hit by Super Typhoon Yolanda to see how donations for the survivors are being used.
USCCB president Archbishop Joseph Edward Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky and his delegates arrived in the country on Sunday and will be in Leyte today until Thursday.
Catholic Relief Service (CRS) board chairman and Oklahoma Archbishop Paul Coakley would arrive tomorrow to join them.
Kurtz said one of the possible outcomes of their visit is to report on the collection that was taken up in November as an initial response to Yolanda’s devastation.
