Fire kills mother, 3 kids in Mandaluyong

MANILA, Philippines - A mother and her three children were killed after they were trapped inside their burning house in Mandaluyong City, Sunday night.

The bodies of Blitz Santos, 44;  Andrei Calunsod, 4; Yui, 2; and  Chelsea, 1 were recovered by firefighters inside the comfort room of their gutted house along San Roque Street, Barangay Ilaya.

The victims failed to escape the flames after being prevented by iron grills installed on the windows of the house.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze that destroyed at least P500,000 worth of properties.
