MANILA, Philippines – Malacanang has cancelled work in government offices in Metro Manila on Tuesday due to continuing heavy downpour brought by tropical storm Maring.
Those involved in the government’s disaster response efforts though are not covered by the work suspension, the Palace added.
Heavy rains continued to pound Metro Manila early Tuesday, causing floods that rendered major thoroughfares impassable.
The suspension of work in government offices in Metro Manila also comes as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued an Orange Rainfall advisory over Metro Manila.
