NPA camp in Camarines Norte seized

MANILA, Philippines - Two soldiers were hurt in a clash in Labo, Camarines Norte that led to the capture of a New People’s Army camp last Sunday.

Lt. Col. Michael Buhat, commander of the 49th Infantry Battalion, said the soldiers were conducting security patrol at past 3 p.m. when they discovered the rebel camp.

Buhat said the camp was “fortified with bunkers” and “equipped with huts and bleachers.”

Col. Richard Lagrana, chief of the Army’s 902nd Infantry Brigade, said he ordered pursuit operations against the rebels.
