2 drug suspects fall in Nueva Vizcaya, Negros Occidental

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents nabbed the suspected top drug pusher in Nueva Vizcaya during an entrapment operation.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the suspect, Falcon Eric Fernandez, 42, of Jaena Street, San Nicolas, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya was arrested by anti-narcotics agents after he sold four plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer along National Highway corner Quezon Street, San Nicolas, also in Bayombong last  Nov. 18.

Aside from the illegal drug, Fernandez also yielded a mobile phone and the P1,000 bill used as marked money by authorities.

Meanwhile, Noli Mercado, 41, was apprehended by PDEA operatives in a buy-bust operation last November 17.

The buy-bust operation took place at the vicinity of Margarita Village, Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental where 12 sachets of shabu were recovered from the suspect.

“Fernandez and Mercado are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Cacdac said. - Dennis Carcamo
