SLEX northbound lanes temporarily closed Saturday

MANILA, Philippines - The northbound lanes of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) will be temporarily closed to traffic at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday until 4 a.m. the next day due to construction work being conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for its Bilibid overpass project.

The SLEX operator, Manila Toll Expressway Systems Inc. (MATES), said the northbound lanes of the SLEX from Susana Heights to South Green Heights will be unavailable to motorists to give way to the girder launching activity of the DPWH for the project.

Counter-flow traffic will be implemented on the 1.4-kilometer South Green Heights-Susana Heights portion by opening the inner lane of the southbound direction on Nov. 17 and 18.

MATES said the same counter-flow traffic will be undertaken again from 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 to 4 a.m. the following day, on the southbound direction, again requiring the closure of SLEX but on the southbound lanes in the same area.

Counter-flow traffic will also be implemented on the portion by opening the inner lane of the northbound direction on Nov. 22 and 23.
