Rizal drug dealer slain

MANILA, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with policemen, who cornered him while he was transacting business with two clients in Taytay, Rizal yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Rolando Anduyan, Rizal police director, said Zacarias Diarol, alias Cari, chose to shoot it out with the law enforcers instead of giving himself up in Barangay Lupang Arienda.

Anduyan ordered an investigation whether Diarol was one of the henchmen of convicted shabu “tiangge (flea market)” operator Amin Imam Boratong who had transferred his illegal trade from Pasig City to Lupang Arienda.

Diarol’s two clients, a certain Joel Prado and Vilma Caluma, were arrested.
