NPA leader arrested in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines - A ranking New People’s Army (NPA) rebel, facing various charges in court, was arrested in Bay, Laguna on Tuesday afternoon.

Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief, said Annebelle Bueno, alias Ka Girlie, Fara and Lara, who was cornered in Barangay Maitim, Bay town, is the head of the regional organizational department of the NPA’s Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee.

During her arrest, Bueno yielded several subversive documents, 14 sticks of explosives, four blasting caps, and assorted medicine. – Non Alquitran, Ed Amoroso
