Alleged rape victim seeks police assist

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna — A 17-year-old student who was reportedly raped by five suspected drug addicts on Oct. 9 in Bgy. Canlubang, Laguna, fears for her life and has sought police assistance from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 4A.

The victim, identified only as ‘Camile’, is suffering from mental anguish after she started receiving death threats from unknown persons. Several unidentified motorcycle-riding men were sighted roaming around her house.

SPO4 Rosevelt Legaspi, CIDG4A investigator, assured the victim’s family of police protection and would be provided with police escort if they need one while attending court hearings.

The victim’s mother Juana told The STAR, a barangay official approached her and tried to convince her to settle the case outside the court in exchange for a big amount of money, but the victim’s mother refused the offer.

The police filed rape charges against the five suspects identified as Marvin Doctora, Romy Asuncion, Rommel Vivar, Alvin Oruga, Glen Molina, all residents of Sitio Putol, Bgy. Canlubang on Oct. 19, at the prosecutor’s office in Calamba City, but until now no preliminary investigation has been conducted by Francisco Collado Jr., investigating prosecutor, the mother said.
