Alex Hugo, spokesman of the Nagka—hiusang Drayber sa Sugbo (NADSU), said they are already sick and tired of the continued collection of these fines.
Benjamin Yu, general manager of the Cebu Integrated Transport and Allied Services Cooperative, said they are ready to support the NADSU strike.
But the Alyansa sa Nagkahiusang Drayber-Operator Alang sa Reporma said they have not talked about this matter with their route leaders.
Hugo said the Cebu Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) has refused to follow the order of Mayor Tomas Osmeña to temporarily stop the collection.
The Transport Unity Forum staged a transport strike last Dec. 16 to press CITOM to stop the collection of the accumulated fines, which have amounted to P122 million in the past 10 years.
The strike lasted for only a day after Osmeña issued the order directing CITOM to temporarily halt the collection.
