3 alleged pushers slain in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Three alleged drug pushers were gunned down in separate attacks by unidentified assailants in Pasay City, San Juan and Marikina on Friday.

Ryan Mariano, 35, was standing along Vergel street in Barangay 119, Pasay City at around 4 p.m. when a gunman shot him and walked away, police said.

According to reports reaching the Eastern Police District, Gilber Caniguel, 44, was standing near his house in 2nd West Crame, San Juan at around 10 p.m. when an assailant repeatedly shot him.

Caniguel died at the scene while the assailant fled. 

At around 3:30 p.m., jeepney driver Estelito Tanyag, 53, was shot dead along B.G. Molina street in Parang, Marikina by two men on a motorcycle.

Marikina police said Tanyag surrendered on July 15 after lawmen visited his house during an Oplan Tokhang operation, which involves police officers asking suspected drug users and pushers to change their ways.
