MANILA, Philippines – A Pasig police official and four of his men were ordered relieved from their posts yesterday.
Newly appointed Eastern Police District director Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula sacked Inspector Lauro Mangusib, commander of Police Community Precinct 3, for failing to account for his subordinates.
Also relieved were Inspector Roberto Magusib, Senior Police Officer 3 Norle Aguilar, PO3 Romel Moises and PO1 Jonathan Catalan.
Sapitula said the four policemen were found to be moonlighting as drivers of Asian utility vehicles while on duty.
Mangusib was sacked for command responsibility.
Sapitula said the relief of the police officers was part of the directive of Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald de la Rosa that no PNP members should engage in “15/30 scheme.”
The police officers will be slapped with administrative cases, Sapitula said.
