San Juan barangay leaders back Gomez

Barangay officials pose with San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez after expressing their support for her bid to seek another term in next month’s elections.

MANILA, Philippines – Eighteen out of 21 village chairmen in San Juan City along with 138 councilmen and other barangay officials have expressed their support for Mayor Guia Gomez, who is seeking reelection.

Allen Silvano, president of the League of Barangays, presented the manifesto of support to Gomez recently.

Gomez thanked the barangay officials for their support.

Barangay leaders also threw their support behind Janella Estrada and Jana Ejercito, who are running for vice mayor and congresswoman, respectively.

Bar exam blast survivor Raissa Laurel and Edith Velasco are running for councilor under Gomez’s ticket.

The barangay leaders expressed their support for Gomez during an activity in San Juan in observance of Women’s Month.

“Gomez provided us with affordable in-city housing relocation at St. Josephville,” Ruel Sumaguinsing, chairman of Barangay Corazon de Jesus, said.
