Another Bilibid kubol demolished

MANILA, Philippines – Another luxury kubol at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) was demolished by officials of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Wednesday.

BuCor agents swooped down on NBP’s Quadrant 1, which houses members of the Batang City Jail.

Prison officials said the kubol was made of concrete, looked like a bungalow and was occupied by a foreign prisoner.

Officials said they would continue “Oplan Galugad” until all the kubols of 53 high-profile prisoners are demolished.

On Saturday, officials seized bladed weapons, a steel pipe and four batons during an operation at Quadrants 4 and 5, both located at  the maximum security compound.

NBP superintendent Richard Schwarzkopf said the operation also resulted in the demolition of the kubol of a high-profile prisoner.
