Businessman pays bogus money at cockpit

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was arrested for reportedly using fake bills to pay his bet at a cockfighting arena in Caloocan City yesterday.

Dale Diforontum, 41, was apprehended by police officers in the Kaybiga Cockpit Arena after Ronald Emperado complained to the arena’s management that Diforontum gave him four fake P1,000 bills.

Senior Inspector Rogelio Batara Jr. said Diforontum was charged with illegal possession and use of false treasury or bank notes and other instruments of credit.
