1 dead, 1 hurt in street fight

MANILA, Philippines - A 21-year-old man was killed and his friend was hospitalized after members of a rival gang attacked them in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City Monday night.

Jay-B Arcenas and Angelo Mendoza, 23, were walking home when members of the “Sawako Gang” attacked them at around 11 p.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Joselito Barredo Jr. said.

One of the gang members shot and killed Arcenas while Mendoza was stabbed and shot, Barredo said. Mendoza was listed in critical condition at the MCU Hospital as of press time.

Mendoza identified one of their alleged attackers as Gheric Culangan, 19.
