MANILA, Philippines - An alleged drug user was arrested and charged yesterday for reportedly abducting his neighbor’s 29-year-old nanny and keeping her captive in his house in Tala, Caloocan City for 11 days until she escaped Wednesday.
Malik Marujon, 27, was charged with rape, serious illegal detention and frustrated homicide following a confrontation with the victim at the police station.
The woman said Marujon grabbed her on July 21 and kept her locked up in his house. She said Marujon repeatedly raped her, and would beat her whenever she refused to take shabu every time he abused her.
She said she escaped while he was sleeping during a heavy downpour Wednesday morning and ran to the nearest police station.
