CIDG arrests illegal recruiter

MANILA, Philippines - Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region arrested in Parañaque City on July 11 a suspected illegal recruiter who has pending cases before the courts of the cities Makati, Pasig and Urdaneta in Pangasinan.

A report from the NCR Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit in Camp Crame said George Lee, 62, of No. 59 Alley 20, Siquijor St. Ayala Alabang Village in Parañaque City, was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 66 Judge Joselito Villarosa.

Villarosa issued the warrant for Lee’s arrest on four counts of illegal recruitment and estafa.

According to the CIDG, Lee is also facing warrants of arrest, for estafa, which were issued by Pasig City RTC Branch 264 Judge Leoncio Janolon and Makati City RTC Branch 137 Judge Jenny Lino Aldecoa-Delorino for failing to appear during the hearing on Feb. 22, 2007.

Lee is now detained at the CIDG headquarters in Camp Crame.            – Mike Frialde
