MANILA, Philippines - A woman jumped to her death from the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Shaw Boulevard station, landing on the concrete pavement of EDSA Friday night.
Evelyn Rosadino, 36, a resident of Bagong Silang, was already dead when MRT security personnel rushed her to the hospital.
Investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 Joel Catubay of the Mandaluyong City police showed that the incident occurred at around 6:45 p.m. Friday at the northbound side of the station.
Jeffrey Palic, 14, a student, told police he was standing beside a food kiosk when he saw Rosadino climb over an iron fence at the station and jump over the railing.
Other people at the station told police that Rosadino’s actions, which occurred at the height of a Friday night rush hour, caught many people by surprise.
Catubay said he will conduct further investigation into the incident. – Rainier Allan Ronda
