American suffers fatal heart attack in hotel

An American died after he suffered a heart attack in a hotel in Makati City Friday afternoon.

The police are still investigating the death of James Barton Williams, 66, manager for business continuity of Orion Support Inc., and a resident of Rosario, Pasig City.

Police Officer 3 Rico Caramat said Williams died while undergoing treatment at the Ospital ng Makati.

The victim’s girlfriend, who was not identified, brought Williams to the hospital.

Initial investigation showed that Williams, who was staying at Unit 204 of the Bel-Air Hotel, suddenly complained of chest pains. He asked his companion to bring him to the hospital.

The police said they are conducting a follow-up investigation to rule out foul play in the victim’s death. – Rhodina Villanueva
