Drug raps filed vs convicted Calauan mayor

The Muntinlupa police yesterday file a case against former Calauan Mayor Antonio Sanchez after he was found in possession of shabu and marijuana inside his cell at the National Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, Muntinlupa police chief, said a report from the NBP noted that during a surprise inspection at Sanchez’s cell last Tuesday morning, prison guards seized from the inmate one heat-sealed sachet of shabu and a bag of marijuana leaves.

Prison Guard 1 Ronald Palmiano also confiscated from Sanchez, who occupies Dormitory 8A-1, an improvised tooter with residue of shabu, two aluminum foil strips and two disposable lighters.

The NBP officials turned over the items to the Muntinlupa police.

Espino said the seized sachets were forwarded to the Southern Police District (SPD) Crime Laboratory for examination. Results of the examination showed that the plastic sachets contained shabu and marijuana leaves.

Superintendent Edgar Ferrater, chief of the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operation Task Force, said they filed illegal drug possession charges against Sanchez before the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor’s Office.
