21 GROs working without permits jailed

Central Police District’s (CPD) first and only lady station commander led a series of raids on three small nightclubs in Quezon City, arresting 21 Guest Relations Officers (GROs) shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Superintendent Felicidad Guido, of CPD Station 5 in Fairview, personally spearheaded the operations in tandem with Station Intelligence and Investigation Division (SIID) operatives.

They raided Butterfly KTV along Mindanao Avenue, and the Kambingan and Masayoshi KTV bars along Zabarte Road.

SPO2 Raymundo Paligutan said those nabbed in the operations were working without occupational permits and were violating City Ordinance No. 10700.

Paligutan noted that none of the GROs placed behind bars were arrested for nude dancing or prostitution.

None of them, he added, have posted bail though they can obtain temporary liberty for a P2,000 bail bond.

Guido, a lawyer, has reportedly refused to give favors to "people" seeking the release of the women.

CPD’s super lady cop, Paligutan said, is very much determined to show that she cannot be pushed around.

Guido is the first lady police colonel ever to hold a station commander’s position in Quezon City.
