MANILA, Philippines - It was clear at the Femme Noir launch that while winter has never made its way to our tropical shores the fashion-savvy are ready to greet spring and summer head-on. Channeling the runway offerings of spring/summer fashion weeks the world over, crazy prints, hyped-up color and trendy separates nipped at the heels of the staple black and somber hues. It was a study in division as some went for the exuberance of spring while others maintained their hold on the elegance of winter. Others took the transition to heart and reflected the battle of the seasons in their choice of attire. Both femmes and hommes alike rose to the occasion and took to the red carpet with amazing style. One thing is for sure though, the Femme Noir launch was the perfect showcase of just how broad the fashion spectrum can be and how the country’s fashionable set can be counted on to rise to the occasion.
