Going Hip, Going Global

Cinderella’s hip collection of fashion from around the world shown last Aug. 15 was a fusion of style and color, from the clothes and accessories worn by the models down to the Barbie-inspired hues of purple, pink and violet set.

The event was divided into four parts, each featuring a particular country’s motif. The USA line was flamboyant, using red, white, blue and yellow. Accessories and shoes were mostly western-inspired leather belts, hats and scarves. All-American vintage gear was presented by SYC, In Focus, Esprit, Colours, Status, Ivie, Harvard, Street Jeans, BUM and Fab.

For India, there were white straight-cut pants, loose tops, wooden sandals and slippers. The models held Buddhist incense sticks while modeling Trends, Feretti, West Street Jeans, U2, Girls Rule, British India, Esprit and GWS.

The next segment was like a stroll along the bustling streets of Paris and Milan, with black and beige custom-tailored suits with scarves. Then, bright-colored trench coats in soft pink and green tones followed in stark contrast. The brands that brought out the classic European mood were Pour Elle, Beatrice, Parfait, Ayessa, R. Calipini, Maxi.

The Spanish look reminded one of flamingo dancers with their ruffled black skirts, off-shoulder red tops adorned with beads and laces, stone jewelry, veils and corset. Drezzee, Fashion Forward, June, Verbe, Playmates and Design Avenue brought out the gypsy Spanish character.

All clothes are available at Cinderella.
