NU radio show speeds up with 'Men's Health' and 'Top Gear Philippines'

MANILA, Philippines - The need for speed is something inherent in every male. Whether it comes in the form of a sexy automobile or a racetrack, men crave the exhilarating rush that comes with going full-speed ahead. Today at 1 p.m., tune in to NU107’s The Magazine Show as the Philippine editions of Top Gear and Men’s Health accelerate weekend afternoon radio.

Top Gear Philippines celebrates its sixth anniversary this month with a traffic-stopping issue featuring the Mitsubishi ASX on the cover. Editor-in-chief Vernon Sarne has been with the magazine since February 2006 and he credits their loyal readers for Top Gear Philippines’ staying power. “We promise to continue to find even more creative ways to bring you car information and entertainment. “

Joining Sarne is associate editor Paulo Subido. Having been with Top Gear for three years, he says they always try to top themselves. “It’s always a challenge, how to make the next issue even better than the last. There is always room for improvement.” He adds, “Readers can look forward to more events where they can interact with our team. It’s all for the readers, after all.”

To further up the ante, the crew of Men’s Health Philippines is set to challenge running enthusiasts anew with the Men’s Health Urbanathlon and Festival 2010. Happening on Nov. 7 at the Fort, Taguig City, the Urbanathlon is a city-based, multi-disciplinary race that integrates various urban structures as part of the race course. Men’s Health managing editor Peejo Pilar, himself a running enthusiast, will talk about this year’s trail, which promises to be the most challenging one yet.

Men’s Health editorial assistant Wayne Tulio will also talk about this month’s issue, featuring Enchong Dee on the cover. Tulio points out that Men’s Health is more than just about being physically fit. “One of our highlights for this month is the Men’s Health Living Special, which has tips on how to spruce up your living space. We also have a feature on Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, with lessons you can learn from exes and much more.”
