The queen of Bhutan celebrates with ‘Lifestyle Asia’

The gala celebration of Lifestyle Asia’s 26th anniversary was a milestone that featured stylish elegance with fun. The presence of Bhutan’s queen mother, Her Majesty Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuck, captured everyone’s attention with her serene and gentle air. She made us all want to add her country to our future travel wish list. Bhutan is the only country that conceived the concept of Gross National Happiness as an index of measuring a country’s wealth, which certainly puts its citizens on the highest level.

The evening’s cuisine featured a five-course Bhutanese dinner and Shangri-La Makati’s Rizal Ballroom was turned into a fun venue with a flash mob dance that had CEOs, diplomats, socialites and other enthusiastic guests join in Donna Summer’s hit Last Dance. Familiar disco steps made us all not only join along but sing along with the enthusiastic mob. Everyone wanted to continue the dancing with Kat Razon’s special disco mix that kept the younger guests on the dance floor wanting more, more, more!
