SUNSATIONS!

We all want that Bardot tan, but not the Bardot après Tropez look. When being a California Raisin is not on the agenda, it’s time to hit the bottle (and I don’t mean booze, sugar). With so many products out to confuse the vulnerable mind, let some veteran and knowledgeable beach bunnies tell you what sun frosting works and what smirks. After all life does not have to be a beach!

Wendy Puyat-Hotung:
Clarins sunblock for face and body is the best. It does not rub off and it contains anti-aging ingredients. Clarins Apres Soleil is the best for after sunning and gives your skin a sexy shimmer. Most people are afraid to use sunblock because they think they will not tan, which is not true. It’s important to optimize protection.

Ana Martha Moreno:
I use Clarins sun products because they are simply the best. They have deep moisturizing qualities that keep my skin restored after a full day at the beach.

Pinky Webb:
I use Clarins products and Kerastase Sun Spray for the hair.

Bacchus Zulueta:
At the beginning of the season I use Bain de Soleil Gellee with SPF 8 and for the face I use Shu Uemura TTL Defender with SPF 25. During the middle to the end of summer I use Ambre Soleil Bronze Oil and Parasola by Naris with SPF 4 for the face. All season long I use Nivea lip care with SPF 4.

Marielle Santos:
I use Banana Boat SPF50 spray and stay out of the harsh rays of the sun between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Bianca King:
I use products by Hawaiian Tropic and make sure they offer adequate protection. I try to wear a cap in the beach to protect my hair from being scorched by the rays.

Pye Trinidad:
I use a spray by Coppertone but more often than not I run for cover.

Chris Yam:
I use Nivea Sun Spray with SPF 15 and tan only from 8 to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. when the rays are not that harsh.

Faith Lavarro:
I apply Hawaiian Tropic SPF 30 with coconut oil on top and reapply everytime I get out of the water to keep from burning.

Albert Andrales:
I use Hawaiian Tropic SPF 20 and Neutrogena After Sun Spray afterwards to soothe my skin. I avoid the sun when it is at its harshest.

Kelly Misa:
I use Nivea Sun Spray with SPF 20 which I apply 30 minutes before hitting the sun. I tan only late mornings and afternoons.

Bianca Fernandez:
I use Neutrogena Sun and After Sun lotions. A great tanning tip is using coconut oil mixed with Coke and a little tanning oil in one mixture. However, before that I put a layer of sunblock!

Bianca Araneta:
I use an SPF 20 on my face called Innoblock from the drugstore which is chemical free, hypoallergenic and does not clog pores. I also use Clinique City Block and their other sun products. I like Silent Treatment by Origins, it’s great in protecting the skin. Nivea has a very nice smelling after sun spray. As for tips on tanning, shave or wax before tanning to remove dead skin cells, avoid peak hours and never forget your SPF. Also try to invest in a good self tanner.

Paolo Gomez:
My favorite suncare products are Clarins and Estee Lauder but I also use Hawaiian Tropic because it’s thicker and smells better than Coppertone. I put moisturizer after as well. Don’t stay out too long and always put protection. It’s also much better to use self tan products, you get similar results with no sun damage.
