It's Christmastime in the Citi

MANILA, Philippines - So, how’s your Christmas shopping coming along? Have you made your list and checked it twice? As you head out the door, don’t forget the almighty plastic. Which one? Your Citibank credit card, but of course!

Surely, it’s Christmastime in the Citi and it’s about time you got yourself a Christmas gift, too, if only to reward yourself for yet another year of grueling hard work. Santa knows you’ve been really nice and not naughty at all. So reap your just rewards this Christmas with the Citibank Rustan’s card. Don’t have a Citibank card yet? No worries! Fact is, your most rewarding Christmas shopping experience starts when you apply and get approved for a Citibank platinum.

Because as a welcome gift, you get the latest must-have Longchamp LM Metal in bronze or silver. It’s in the bag!

Aneth Lim, Citibank director for corporate affairs, is happy to bring good tidings for Christmas: “You have a choice between the silver and the bronze Longchamp bag because you can go to Rustan’s and redeem it yourself. For something like this,

you really want to inspect the product before you take it home. On the other hand, if you’re approved for the gold variant, the bag is available for you at 60-percent off and the 40-percent balance you pay over 12 months at 0-percent interest. So it’s just a little over P200 that you’re paying and you get a premium signature bag.”

Luxe Shopping To The Max

The Citibank-Rustan’s co-brand, launched three years ago, is aligned with the objective to position the Citibank Rustan’s card as the luxury shopping card on the market. It’s the only luxury shopping card on the market with a growing base of cardholders.

No doubt about it, Citibank credit cards are the most rewarding cards to have and to hold. “The rewards start as soon as you present your card because you could be entitled to something free or a discount and after you’ve made the purchase, like for Citi-Rustan’s, if you bought something at Rustan’s now, you earn a rebate; next month you go to Rustan’s, that rebate will be credited to you so you pay less than what you shopped because the rebate is already redeemed,” Aneth points out.

“And then your charge slip of P1,500 you can redeem in a number of options to get a value of like P100 shopping at Rustan’s or Mercury Drug. You can also use it to get free parking passes at Ayala Malls. It’s like the rewards never end with the Citibank credit card.”

Toteful Gift

The long and short of it, according to Aneth, is Citi couldn’t think of anything more attractive to give to the luxury shopper than a most-coveted Longchamp tote. It’s the it bag.

Tote this bag to your Christmas get-together or family reunion for only P288 per month for 12 months for new Citibank credit cardholders who get approved for a Citibank Rustan’s gold card. That’s a good 60-percent savings on the retail price of the bag (P8,650), with the balance payable at 0-percent interest.

Existing Citibank credit cardholders who would like to apply for a Citibank Rustan’s card can also enjoy the same offer when approved at only P396 per month. They enjoy a 45-percent discount on the retail price, with the balance again on 0-percent PayLite for 12 months.

Even if you already have a Citibank Rustan’s card, you can still get the bag for free when you refer friends to apply. Approved platinum card applications give you two points while you get one point for gold cardholders. You only need three points to get the bag for free. Redemption starts on December 17. Redemption booths include Longchamp stores located at Rustan’s Department Stores Cebu, Makati, Shangri-La Mall, as well as Concierge of Rustan’s Department Store, Alabang Town Center. Aneth relates, “The promotion is doing really, really well and we’re very pleased because it shows we do know who our market is because we’re giving them a reward that fits their preference, their lifestyle.”

Though Filipinos like to shop the whole year round, there’s an increase in spending during the holidays.

“This campaign is just one of many that we have to ensure that this holiday season, cardholders will not have to think about what card to use. The reflex is it has to be the Citibank credit card,” Aneth declares. “And we’re doing all this because we want our cardholders to stay loyal, we’re rewarding them for their loyalty. Clearly, you know that every time you put out your Citi card from my wallet, you’re going to get something back to reward you for your loyalty.”
