Bow & Wow, CARA aid homeless animals

MANILA, Philippines - Cats roaming the streets or left to waste away, injured or badly kicked and in dire need of medical help, are some of the animals rescued, nursed back to health, and put up for adoption by Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) Welfare Philippines. In recent months, CARA has teamed up with Bow & Wow to hold adopt-a-cat events and find loving homes for cats.

A series of “Adopt-a-Cat” events have been held by CARA and supported by Bow & Wow, with each event instilling public awareness on the plight of abused or neglected cats. They are rescued, but they need to get a loving and safe environment. CARA makes it a point to set adoption policies. CARA’s rescued animals, if over six months of age, must be spayed or neutered before adoption. It has to be “a continuous process” of neutering, rescuing, and facilitating adoption, said Nancy Cu Unjieng, president of CARA Welfare Philippines.

CARA Welfare Philippines’ partner in its advocacies, Bow & Wow, gives new concerned pet owners good suggestions on how to nurture and raise healthier pets. Bow & Wow also guides new pet parents on how to introduce the new cat or dog to the rest of the household, and how to socialize and train them well.

Besides doggie and cat meals, treats, natural supplements and personal care, Bow & Wow carries unique accessories, toys, kennels and beddings made of high quality, environmentally friendly non-toxic materials.

Bow & Wow is located at the fifth level, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City, and at the lower ground floor of Greenbelt 5, Makati City.
