C Boutique Hotel offers ‘Flavors of Baguio Tour’

MANILA, Philippines - C Boutique Hotel, the Summer Capital’s most contemporary hotel, joins forces with ourawesomeplanet.com, in offering a new way to fall in love with Baguio, through its diverse and dynamic flavors.

With the “Flavors of Baguio Tour,” guests of C Boutique Hotel are taken on a culinary journey that maps Baguio’s history, heritage, as well as its hip and happening local scene, with familiar stops that enliven a spirit of nostalgia and multi-awarded dining establishments that offer a taste of the finest.

C Boutique Hotel guests are taken to downtown Baguio where they choose between two well-respected restaurants.

One choice is the Heritage Mansion, Solibao, a restaurant synonymous with specialized local dishes, particularly Ilocano specialties. With its antique interiors of hardwood and floral amber glass windows, the restaurant offers kare-kareng bagnet, pinulpugan and of course, pinakbet.

The other choice is Rose Bowl, where Baguio tourists are treated to a feast of authentic, family-style, Cantonese comfort food. Owned by the Nang family, Rose Bowl offers the C Boutique Hotel “Flavors of Baguio Tour” participants a choice of soup, choice of four of its finest viands, a choice of rice, dessert, and drinks, completing what it traditionally calls, the Comida China.

After a hearty lunch, tour participants visit heritage sites, such as the Laperal Mansion, or the infamous Bahay na Puti which has now been opened to the public as a museum, the Lourdes Grotto, or go antique handicrafts shopping at the locally-renowned Sabado’s Handicrafts.

Baguio’s Tam-Awan Village has since 1998 been a commune where Baguio artists can gather and thrive in an environment that preserves its traditions and crafts. The highlight of the stop is Tam-Awan Café where authentic Cordilleran dishes are prepared in modern ways. If the tour is done on a Saturday, “Flavors of Baguio Tour” participants are treated to a show of Cordilleran dances.

The Flavors of Baguio Tour culminates at historical Casa Vallejo’s Hill Station, which is a two-time consecutive Miele Food Guide “Asia’s Finest Restaurants Awardee” for 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Hill Station offers dishes that mix continental specialties with contemporary comfort food, with the right amount of spice and the perfect burst of flavor that mirrors the personality of its owner Mitos Benitez-Yniguez.

The tour package starts at P1,750 per person. The “Flavors of Baguio Tour” can be booked through ourawesomeplanet.com or at the C Boutique Hotel Reception upon check-in.
