More than enough in 'One'

One magazine, the lifestyle publication of Shangri-La Plaza Corporation, releases its fifth issue with a new theme: shapes. Also sporting a new look, this issue boasts creative director Nikki Abaya’s take on a layout design that is both minimal and modern, playing on angles and curves, bolds and cursives.

Issue five contains six hefty product features: fashion shoots showcasing the season’s best, from urban to sporty to high fashion, all carried by Shangri-La Plaza’s world-class retailers.

Top model Kelly Misa is on the cover. In a shoot that otherwise tests the magazine staff’s cool, Misa proves that poise is not so much physical balance but inner grace. One editor in chief Paolo Enrico Melendez recounts the shoot, and Misa’s insights into the shape that represents her best.

“Cogent Dimensions” features the living and working spaces of two industry personalities. Premiere sculptor Napoleon Abueva discusses with Krip Yuson his latest projects, both personal and commissioned. Lester Gopela Hällig sits down with fashion designer Cecile Zamora-van Straten to hear how she helped conceptualize their sleek, contemporary home.

In “Angulo Brio,” two artists explain how personal backgrounds shape worldviews, in turn influencing one’s aesthetics. Melendez picks the minds of multi-awarded writer Joel Toledo, and prominent sculptor Impy Pilapil.

Also included in the regular sections of the magazine are summaries of the latest movies showing at Shangri-La Plaza’s Cineplex, along with reviews of the newest CDs and books available in the mall.

One magazine offers a tantalizing sampler of Shangri-La Plaza’s more than 400 retail partners carrying some of the world’s most iconic brands, providing a truly A-grade lifestyle experience.
