Kitchen comfort plus

There can be only one... choice of a kitchen, that is. One mistake could cost homeowners a relaxing atmosphere where good conversations abound and great meals are found. Remember, the kitchen is the heart of the home, a place where tired souls and famished stomachs are nourished.

Future One Serendra owners need not worry about having the right kitchen in their homes. The residential offering of Ayala Land Premier located in the heart of Bonifacio Global City, One Serendra boasts world-class kitchen systems incorporated into its spacious units. As any homemaker would know, having a comfortable kitchen to cook great meals in is a must. Definitely, the way to a husband’s – and keep the little ones satisfied – heart is through the stomach, and wifey can do that via a fully functional kitchen where she can do her thing a la Tita de la Garza of Like Water for Chocolate fame.

Designed for home owners in various stages of life – from young couples, to full families to early nesters – Serendra’s kitchens reflect spaciousness and luxury without sacrificing simplicity and convenience. For instance, the two-bedroom unit has a modern contemporary feel to it. Designed by Royal Pineda, the predominantly black kitchen easily blends earth and wood elements with its natural stone countertops (a common feature of all Serendra kitchen systems) and wooden closets and drawers. Oriental accents, courtesy of design firm partner Budji Layug, soften the otherwise no-nonsense design. The kitchen is also adjacent to the maid’s quarters, which can also be transformed into a laundry area for the more independent residents.

The regular three-bedroom unit, this time designed by Marion Coscolluela and Mara Coscolluela-Quintal, features black granite countertops, solid wood cabinets, ducted exhaust systems and ceramic tiles. Say goodbye to hard-to-clean tiles that dull over time and the boring ordinary marble that are a dime a dozen these days in condominium units. In keeping with One Serendra’s "at home with nature" theme, the kitchen also features a touch of greenery with plants and blooms, as well as scenes of abundance via fruit-filled bowls and oversize glass vases. The use of light-colored wood evokes warmth and a welcoming atmosphere that children will especially love. Imagine waking up to a cold morning and smelling the soothing aroma of freshly brewed coffee emanating from the kitchen. It sounds like the perfect television coffee ad commercial, doesn’t it? Well, it happens in real life as well.

The special three-bedroom units of One Serendra, meanwhile, offers the biggest kitchen space with lots of room to fit a work table in the center and still have enough room for some fancy footwork. Designer Anna Sy kept things simple and straightforward. The kitchen’s white and light colors, modern art pieces and signature design furniture, i.e. Verner Panton and Eames chairs, provide a distinct modern feel to it. The result is a clean and streamlined cooking space with minimal decorations. With lots of storage cupboards and a closet for cleaning appliances and other materials, one doesn’t have to worry about clutter.

Oh, and good news for those who swear by the benefits of feng shui. Feng shui experts Charlie Chao and Joseph Chau acted as feng shui consultants to ensure the smooth flow of chi in every corner of a One Serendra home, yes, including the kitchen.

Over at Bonifacio Ridge nearby, meanwhile, is a top-of-the-line kitchen system by Niki Magcase. The first residential condominium managed and marketed by Ayala Land Inc. in Bonifacio Global City, Bonifacio Ridge boasts an elegant kitchen system that complements its tranquil, Zen-like units.

With a classic L-shape design, the kitchen is easily accessible from the dining room. The overhead cabinet and drawer follow the same L-shape contour and light fixtures brighten up the twin-tub kitchen sink. Three of the carcass panels have built-in access with pullout trays, built-in greasetrap and garbage bin.

The kitchen exudes a pleasant vibe, its yellow, brown and green tones giving off a soothing effect, complemented further by brightly colored accents, such as a bowl of oranges and apples for instance. The dark countertop, too, is softened by the natural wood material. The overall effect? A kitchen basking in a warm glow, where every family member feels quite at home, sharing a good meal or simply having some good, quality time together.
