Domex partners with media for 1M Clean Toilets Movement

MANILA, Philippines - The Domex 1M Clean Toilets Movement continues to gain momentum, recently forging partnerships with top media organizations such as The Philippine STAR.  Unilever, through its leading toilet cleaner brand Domex, visited several media offices to conduct proper toilet sanitation training among its cleaning and maintenance staff. The visits were capped by actual cleanups of the toilets and donation of Domex products while the media organizations pledged to have all their employees become part of the 1M Clean Toilets Movement.

“We at Unilever are privileged to offer our toilet sanitation expertise to the country’s top publication companies and show the advantages of using a dedicated toilet-cleaning agent such as Domex in disinfecting their toilets towards providing healthier office bathroom breaks,” said Dennis Chua, Unilever Philippines brand manager for Domex.

The 1M Clean Toilets Movement, an advocacy partnership between Domex, Philippine Public Health Association and UNICEF, aims to create awareness on proper toilet cleaning through pledges and providing access to clean toilets to communities.  It has so far garnered hundreds of thousands of pledges from different individuals and institutions from different sectors.  These pledges have helped create more than 8,000 new toilets so far coming from Domex’s P5 donation to UNICEF’s Sanitation Program for every pledge received.  These new toilets will benefit more than 32,000 families or around 160,000 individuals.

The Philippine STAR and other top media organizations have joined a growing number of private companies and medical institutions led by Pilipinas Shell Petroluem Corporation and the Jose Rodriguez Hospital, as well as some of Manila’s public elementary schools and the city government of Manila, who strongly support and have pledged their commitment to the 1 Million Clean Toilets program of Domex.
